?? Position Overview:
As an Educational Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in theclassroom by facilitating clear and accurate communication between students andeducators. Using American Sign Language (ASL), you’ll interpret spoken languageinto sign and vice versa, ensuring students have full access to instruction,classroom discussions, and school activities.
?? What You’ll Do:
- Provide real-time ASL interpretation in classroom settings
- Support students during lectures, group work, and school events
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure effective communication strategies
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
?? What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working in educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student success and accessibility
?? Compensation: $50/hour + full benefits
?? Location: Morgantown area
?? Schedule: Full time, M-F 7:30-3:30, no nights, weekends, or holiday
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deafstudies or related field, preferred
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language InterpreterCertificate (as applicable)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
