Paraprofessional - ASL - Weekly Pay

The Amergis Educational Services Team is currently seeking Paraprofessionals certified in American Sign Language (ASL) for schools within Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow and surrounding areas for the Full 2025-26 School Year.

Position Details: 

Pay: $20-22 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Start Date: August 2025

Length of Contract: 2025-26 school year (high possibility of extension into the following school year and option to go internal directly with school)

Requirements: 

• Sixty (60) or more college credit hours or an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited school or a passing score on the Para Pro exam required.

• • Must be certified in American Sign Language.

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. 

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice 
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements   
• Must be at least 18 years of age
