Behavioral Tech/Level II Paraprofessional Needed in Pensacola, FL for the 25/26 School Year!

A Behavioral Technician, often referred to as a Behavior Tech or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), plays a vital role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges, often under the guidance of a Behavior Analyst. Here’s a snapshot of their responsibilities:

  • Direct Care: Providing one-on-one or group therapy to clients, often focusing on skill-building and behavior modification.

  • Data Collection: Monitoring and recording patient behaviors to track progress and inform treatment plans.

  • Implementation of Plans: Carrying out behavior reduction and skill acquisition strategies as outlined by supervisors.

  • Supportive Environment: Ensuring a safe and nurturing space for clients and their families.

  • Crisis Intervention: Addressing challenging behaviors and providing immediate support when necessary.

Behavioral Technicians often work with individuals facing conditions like autism, PTSD, or substance abuse. They may operate in diverse settings, including homes, schools, clinics, or community environments. Key skills include patience, empathy, strong communication, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

The Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational andbehavioral services with children and adults with special needs andcollaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists toachieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable   
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
