- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and health histories
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and mobility support
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, falls, or code situations
- Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
- Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Med-Surg experience preferred
- Completion of Amergis’ Competency Program (if applicable)
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Successful completion of new hire orientation and Med-Surg training
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
