School Recreational Therapist -Urgent Hire

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our educational team. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that support students’ physical, emotional, and social well-being through recreational therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs tailored to students’ needs and abilities.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and healthcare professionals to support students’ IEPs and overall development.
• Provide skilled recreational therapy services in accordance with physician orders and school guidelines.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
• Promote inclusion, engagement, and positive social interactions through structured activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) as required by state or school district.
• At least one year of current experience in Recreation Therapy (school-based experience preferred).
• Water Safety and Health Fitness Instructor certifications preferred.
• Current CPR certification (if applicable).
• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
• Current Health Certificate (as required by contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
