Special Education Teacher (K–12) Location: Santa Maria, CA Employer: [Insert District or Staffing Agency Name] Start Date: August 2025 (or as negotiated) Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview The Special Education Teacher, under the supervision of the Special Education Program Administrator, will deliver high-quality services to students with exceptional needs in grades K through 12. This role emphasizes collaboration and team participation in designing and implementing individualized student programs. Duties include providing specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Collaborate with general and special education teams to support student success

  • Provide individualized and group support tailored to diverse learning needs

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations

  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and staff development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

  • Valid state teaching credential as required by California education code and district policy

    • Preferred certifications:

      • Standard Elementary Teaching

      • Standard Secondary Teaching

      • Standard Special Teaching

      • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement

  • At least one year of classroom teaching experience (preferred)

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)

  • TB test, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance (as required)

  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years

Pay rate show is for candidates 50+ miles away from site. Local pay rate is $60/hr
