About Amergis Healthcare and the Role
Amergis Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in partnership with the ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC). This role is vital in delivering high-quality behavioral health services to individuals in a detention setting, ensuring compassionate, culturally competent, and clinically sound care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct care including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and substance abuse education.
- Implement and manage services within a multi-disciplinary mental health treatment unit.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in mental health and substance use disorders.
- Coordinate care with medical staff and other professionals, including tele-behavioral health services.
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records (EHR).
- Participate in suicide prevention, post-discharge planning, and case management.
- Provide training and consultation to ICE, medical, and contract staff.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Minimum one year of experience as an independent LCSW.
Licensure & Certification:
- Unrestricted license to practice clinical social work in the state of assignment.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association® or American Red Cross).
- Privileging by IHSC required.
Preferred:
- Experience with Modified Therapeutic Community treatment models.
- Background in detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in DSM-V diagnostics and therapeutic modalities.
- Ability to work in multicultural and multilingual environments.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass DHS background investigation and obtain a Favorable Fitness Determination.
- Physically able to respond to emergencies and assist patients as needed.
