The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12.  The Special Education Teacher has a commitmentto team participation in planning and implementation of student programsincluding special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation withgeneral education staff.  

Minimum Requirements:

    • Current CA SPED teaching credential
    • Driver’s license with own transportation.
    • Must reside in the San Mateo/San Francisco Bay Area 
    • Must be proficient with formally assessing students using WIAT or WJ 
    • Must be proficient with writing and facilitating IEP meetings
    • Must have Added Autism Authorization and CLAD or EL certification

     Preferred: 

    • Minimum 2 years of current school district teaching experience
    • Experienced in TouchMath, and Sonday curriculum
    • Experience with SEIS

     Caseload/Duties:

    • Small caseload
    • Provide classroom instruction differentiated for each student’s learning needs and in accordance with IEP goals.
    • Case management for students on caseload
    • Set up, facilitate, and write legally compliant/defensible IEPs
    • Conduct formal assessments and writing of eligibility report
    • Attend SPED training as requested
    • Collaborate and provide support to other SPED teachers/specialists as well as GE staff.
    • Manage, train, and support assigned paraeducator
