• Estimated Start Date– August 27, 2025 
• Schedule– Monday- Friday following the standard school calendar 
• Hours- 32.5/ week 
• Pay rate- $22/hour 

Para Educator

Amergis Educational and Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant (alsoknown as a Para Educator). 

The Para Educator is an individual who works withstudents requiring generalized assistance to meet their behavioral andinstructional needs, under the direct supervision of school professionals orother behavioral specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows through with IEP (individualized education plan) objectives at the direction of school professionals
• Supervises and assists students with daily instructional and educational support 
• Communicates pertinent information to teachers and can assist with generalized classroom duties
• Documents session per policy and procedures. Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements
• Assists with activities of prescribed programs
• Assists students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
• Assists Behavioral Specialist or Teacher with implementation of behavior management techniques
• Follows Right Response guidelines to de-escalate students when presenting verbal or physical aggression (De-escalation training provided but candidate must be comfortable with a potentially aggressive environment)
