The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitmentto team participation in planning and implementation of student programsincluding special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation withgeneral education staff.
Position Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team and support students with diverse learning needs. Whether working in preschool, elementary, middle, or secondary school settings, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve academic, social, and life skills success. Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Teach core academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional strategies using specialized instructional techniques.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure cohesive support.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Utilize technology and adaptive tools to enhance learning experiences.
• Promote positive behavior and social interaction through evidence-based strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid CA teaching certification in Special Education.
• ECE, Mild-Mod, or Mod-Severe differentiation certification.
• Experience working with students with disabilities (emotional, physical, intellectual, or sensory).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state,contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard ElementaryTeaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard SecondaryTeaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teachingpreferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
