Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Fairhaven, MA who is currently seeking Special Education Teachers to work with students on a contractual basis.

Details of the Position Include:

Location: Fairhaven, MA
Pay Rate: $50-60/hour (based on experience)
Start Date: August 28th, 2025
Duration: 2025-26 School Year
Schedule:

Elementary: 8:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Middle: 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM

Requirements:

DESE Licensure PK-8
DESE Special Education Licensure (Mild-Moderate or Severe)
1+ Year Experience Teaching

Description:

Seeking 2 ASD Sub-Separate Teachers:

One at the Elementary School level
One at the Middle School level

Seeking 2 Inclusion Teachers with a background in Reading:

Specific reading certification not required
Wilson or Orton-Gillingham (OG) background preferred

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
