Are you passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where every student can thrive? We’re looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
About the Role:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will work under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator to deliver high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. You’ll collaborate closely with general education staff, behavioral specialists, and paraprofessionals to implement individualized education programs (IEPs), behavior plans, and inclusive teaching strategies.
Position Overview:
- Location: Lansing, KS
- Compensation: $40/hour
- Hours: 40/week
- Openings: 4
- Grade Levels: Will vary on skills and availability
- Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Nights, No Weekends, No Holidays)
- Contract: Entire 2025-2026 School Year
- Weekly Pay + Benefits
- Start: July 28, 2025
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct instruction, tutorial support, and classroom interventions tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate with RBTs, BCBAs, and other behavioral staff to implement effective behavior plans
- Support students in both group and 1:1 settings across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth
- Consult with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively applied
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and team planning sessions

What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate (required by state/district regulations)
- At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- State Teacher Certification in Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education (preferred)
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB Questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
