Job Title: Correctional Registered Nurse (RN)

• Location: Roanoke City Adult Detention Center – Roanoke, VA
• Job Type: Full-Time / Contract (8-week assignment with potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver both routine and emergency nursing care to incarcerated individuals
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, correctional officers, and administrators
• Conduct assessments, administer medications, and manage chronic and acute conditions
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold healthcare and facility protocols
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in crisis intervention as needed
• Educate patients on health maintenance and wellness

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Virginia
• MUST have at least 1 year of correctional healthcare experience to be considered for this role
• Current and active BLS certification
• TB screening (PPD, chest x-ray, or questionnaire as applicable)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Weekend availability is required
• Flexibility to travel or relocate for the duration of the assignment
