QUALIFICATIONS :
Education, Certification, and Experience
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– EMT or Medical Assistant Certification, i.e., AAMA/CCBMA Certification.
– First Aid certified within 30 days of employment.
– CPR certified within 30 days of employment.
– Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
Desired:
– Two years of experience in a substance abuse treatment setting.
– Course work in related subjects, i.e., co-occurring disorders, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, HCV, Harm Reduction, etc.
– Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Competencies:
Trauma-Informed Care: Proficiency in delivering services using Trauma-Informed and Harm Reduction approaches.
Medication Management: Expertise in managing client medications, including controlled substances, ensuring secure storage, accurate inventory, and proper documentation.
Collaboration: Ability to work closely with Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT), Withdrawal Management, and other Health & Wellness teams to implement treatment plans effectively.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of policies and procedures related to medication storage, administration, and destruction, ensuring adherence to all standards.
Documentation Skills: Strong ability to maintain and audit medication logs, treatment forms, and medical records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Client Advocacy: Capacity to act as a liaison between clients, staff, and providers, ensuring clear communication and advocacy for client needs.
Administrative Proficiency: Skill in managing administrative responsibilities, including creating reports and ensuring accurate documentation for audits.
Detail Orientation: Precision in handling medication records, inventories, and documentation to avoid errors.
