Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
Familiarity with seizure protocols and emergency medication administration is a plus.

The 1:1 School LPN/LVN identifies and treats health disorders among students in the school setting. The 1:1 School LPN/LVN provides instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. The School LPN/LVN monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student to appropriate resources as needed. The work of the School LPN/LVN is performed in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes.
Minimum Requirements:
Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Current BLS card
Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
Understands the school organization and the community served
Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide 1:1 support for a preschool-aged student. The primary responsibility will be to monitor the student for signs of seizures and respond appropriately according to the care plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the student throughout the school day for any signs or symptoms of seizures.
Use a provided wand device to assess potential seizure activity when symptoms appear.
Administer prescribed medication in the event of a seizure, following established protocols.
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of any incidents or interventions.
Collaborate with school staff and the student’s healthcare team as needed.

The LPN will be interviewing with the school nurse as part of the hiring process.
This position runs through August 15th.
