Amergis Healthcare Staffing is looking to hirea Certified Special Education Teacher to providequality services to special education students anywhere from kindergartenthrough grade 12, through a commitment to team participation in planning andimplementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorialassistance and consultation with general education staff. Key Details:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Typical Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Pay Rate: $45 – $60/hr. but negotiable Dep. On Exp.
  • Weekly paychecks

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares student education plans in consultation with parents and IEP team members.
  • Designs instruction, both individual and small group, which parallels the general education curriculum.
  • Serves as the coordinator of IEP implementation with general education staff.
  • Monitors student progress, participates in review and revision of student’s IEP, as appropriate.
  • Maintains accurate student records 
  • Mentors and supports teaching assistants who provide support to students with disabilities 
  • Assess students’ skills and educational needs and tracks student’s performance
  • Communicates to maintain positive relationships with students and their parents 
  • Follows School District policies and procedures
  • Other Special Education Teacher related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university – (emphasis in appropriate field preferred).
  • Transcripts Preferred.
  • State SPED Teacher Certification Required; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching, Standard Secondary Teaching, and Standard Special Teaching preferred.
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
  • Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
  • Recent TB results and/or chest X-ray.
