Pay Rate: $27 /hr – ~$43,200
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 School LPN/LVN to identify and treat health disorders among students in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitors the student’s physical conditions in the school setting and refers the student to appropriate resources as needed.
- Perform in compliance with his/her LPN/LVN scope of practice and according to state education codes.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and healthcare providers to support the student’s needs.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with school policies.
- Educate and support the student in managing their health condition.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN/LVN license for the state in which the nurse practices
- Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
- One year prior professional nursing experience in school setting preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Current BLS card
- Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatment
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
- Some knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
- Some knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
- Understands the school organization and the community served
- Must be at least 18 years of age
