The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonarytherapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor. The Respiratory Therapist treats conditionsthat affect the pulmonary system and help patients who are having troublebreathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health caresettings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registrationfor the state in which he/she practices
- One year of respiratory therapy clinical experiencepreferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age Compliance & EthicsExpectations
NICU/PICU Experience:
The department is willingtake someone who doesn’t have both, but they have to least have one of thebelow.
NICU (w/NRP cert) wouldneed to be a level III or IV.
PICU (w/ PALS cert)wouldneed to be a level I.
Must have experience withHFOV & nitric use. They are willing to train in HFJV, regular vents(Drager/Servo).
EPIC is required
RT, NRP & PALs certsrequired
No travel experience orTrauma I experience needed but it is preferred.
