The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

What is the age range of the students? |
(1 opening) @ Transition – Caseload includes 7 students in cross-categorical model of classroom, physical disabilities with moderate to severe behaviors, high acuity classroom. Not a typical classroom model, they are learning functional independence and life skills in their gift shop/store on-site. Prep for life outside of educational system.
(1 openings) @ Elementary – 5 current students, expecting 6 (that will be the cap)

Cross-Cat Classroom Model Description of this Classroom Type: A specialized classroom designed for students with diverse needs, including those related to behavior, social-emotional development, and communication. These classrooms typically offer a flexible, individualized approach to instruction, often incorporating a self-contented model or a combination of inclusion and pull-out services. The goal is to meet the unique needs of students with various disabilities while fostering their social and academic growth.
