$40 – $43 / hour

Amergis Educational Staffing is actively hiring a Sign Language Interpreter in Winston-Salem, NC to join our team and make a positive impact in student lives. Details of the position listed below:

Position:  Sign Language Interpreter

Location:  Winston-Salem, NC

Pay Rate (Local): $42 -44 Per Hour

Total Travel Package: $1,902.00/week

*Must reside over 50 miles away to qualify for travel package*

• Taxable Wages = $656.25/week
• Weekly Housing Allowance = $770/week
• Weekly Meals & Incidentals Allowance = $476/week

Details:

• Start date: August 2025
• Contract Length: 2025 – 26 School Year, potential to extend
• Flexible to work with students of all grade levels
• 1:1 services
• Monthly PD offered
• Strong support team in place with a Lead Interpreter, Lead DHH Teacher, and Director

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in interpreting or a related field and must meet 20 hours of professional learning related to interpreting/transliterating annually
• Educational Interpreter I 
• Score of 3.3 or higher on the Educational Interpreting Proficiency Assessment (EIPA)or a TEC Unit score of a level 2 for cued language transliterator
• Educational Interpreter II
• Score of 3.5 or higher on the Educational Interpreting Proficiency Assessment (EIPA) or a TEC Unit score of a level 3 for cued language transliterator 
• Educational Interpreter III 
• Score 4.0 on the Educational Interpreting Proficiency Assessment (EIPA) or a TEC Unit score of a level 3 or, may hold a national certification
• Experience working in an educational setting
