Behavioral School Aide | Highschool

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.  The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional. 

Minimum Requirements:

Duration:

Summer Starts 7.1.25 – Though July 31st. Resume School August 28th

Pay Rate:

$19 / hr , pay weekly

Hours/schedule:

35 hours per week

Regular School Year Hours: Mon – Fri (7:30 A.M-3:30 P.M)

Summer Hours are 730am – 2pm M-Th

Qualifications/Licensure:

HS Diploma/GED Required

Typical job duties & work environment:

Working 1-1 with students that have moderate Autism and related behavior issues.  Also some other functions such as classroom prep, Crosswalk assistance.

Specific experience required:

Previous experience with Autism

Top 3 skills needed for success:

Timely, professional, able to verbally deescalate

Ratios (if applicable):

average of 7 students in the classroom

Location of assignment:

Baltimore, MD  21211

Float Requirement:

Yes- Float to other classrooms as needed

Orientation process:

Orientation onsite

Dress Code & Parking:

School appropriate, no ripped clothes, avoid logo’s and cartoons/ unprofessional images, no shorts, no dangly jewelry

Credentialing Requirements:

 Fingerprinting, CPS, MD486, MSDE, Seasonal Flu Shot
