Sign Language Interpreter 25/26 SY

The Educational Sign Language Interpreter supports staff, students, and families by providing interpretation and translation services for deaf and hearing-impaired students. The interpreter also effectively facilitates communication between students who use sign language due to hearing loss, and students/teachers who do not. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Schedule:

Monday-Friday  

Hours/Week (Paid/Unpaid Lunch)

Student in-person days/time only; M, T, Th, F 9:00am-3:30pm, W 10:00am-3:30pm; potential for extra hours for extra-curricular activities

Position Details (Age group, Caseload, Duties):

 -For the 2025-2026 school year 

-Will not do much floating. Will be working at no more than 2-3 buildings. Gas mileage is NOT reimbursed as the schools are very close to each other 

-In person candidates only. No remote or hybrid.

 48 hour feedback

Pay Rate: 

Local Pay = $45-55
