As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the SubstanceAbuse Technician assists clients from admission through discharge providingclient support through the extended substance and mental health treatmentprocess. The Substance Abuse Techniciansupervises client’s behavior and manage client crisis situations when theyarise. The Substance Abuse Technicianwill serve substance abuse clients in both inpatient and outpatientsettings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide orientation to new patients to the program
- Conduct intake, discharge, assessments, and initial treatment plans
- Administer biopsychosocial assessments
- Recognizing and monitoring patient development and implement treatment plans
- Provide professional counseling and referral services
- Other duties assigned
Experience:
- Prior SUD counseling experience preferred
Education:
Required:
- Technical/other educational training or better in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or related field
- Associates or higher in Psychology or related field
- Masters or higher in Psychology or related field
- Bachelors or higher in Psychology or related field
Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred:
- SUDCC / SUDCC II or III
- LPC
- ASCW/LCSW
- AMFT/LMFT
- CADC I, II, or III
Qualities:
- Thought provoking, enthusiastic, detail oriented, team player, dedicated
- Self-starter, goal oriented, ability to make an impact
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in an addiction treatment facility orexperience working in the substance use disorder and/or mental health fieldpreferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
