Job Description:
Under the supervision of a qualified professional, a Certified Wellness Coach may offer support in the following areas: o Wellness promotion and education, (e.g., teaching youth how to build positive relationships and prevent bullying) o Screening that does not require a license (e.g., answering questions and coordinating screening programs) o Care coordination (e.g., connecting individuals to behavioral health resources and communicating with other professionals) o Individual support (e.g., providing brief check-ins and supporting care plans established by Licensed or PPS providers) o Group support, on topics such as stress management and social and emotional skills o Crisis referral adhering to standard protocols, such as identifying potential risks and engaging in warm hand-offs
Minimum Requirements:
1. Workforce Pathway

Hold an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Have 1,350 hours of field experience providing pre-clinical behavioral health services to children and youth.

Relevant roles may include Family and Youth Liaison, Student Advocate, Community Service Coordinator, Behavioral Health Specialist/Technician, or similar positions.
2. Education Pathway

Recently graduated from a California college or university with an associate or bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

Human Services

Social Work
-
Psychology (newly added)

Addiction Studies

Have 400 total hours of field experience (150 hours minimum).
Additional Responsibilities of a Certified Wellness Coach:
? Wellness Promotion & Education – Teach students how to build positive relationships and prevent bullying. ? Screening Support – Assist with non-licensed screenings and answer behavioral health questions. ? Care Coordination – Connect individuals to resources and collaborate with professionals. ? Individual & Group Support – Provide brief check-ins and lead discussions on stress management, social-emotional skills, and overall wellness. ? Crisis Referral Assistance – Identify potential risks and follow standard protocols for warm hand-offs.
