The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The labor and deliverynurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.
Licenses: WA RN License or Compact License
Years of Experience: 3+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
Specific Requirements?
- Magnesium drip experience required
- C-Section Circulation experience required
- Must be comfortable floating to post-partum
- Must be comfortable floating elsewhere if/when necessary and acting as a “sitter”. Floating is not common
- NIHSS, BLS
- COVID vaccine no longer required
Other?
- Caregiver CANNOT have any RTO during the first 7 days after starting or they will be rejected. This is the orientation period and they are not flexible!
- Only accepts minimal RTO requests (any more than 4 days will not be accepted). Must be willing to work holidays

Overlake operates on an Alternate Work Week (Mon-Sun). Please see company attachments for stipend policy, and remember that we must bill OT according to Overlake’s work week and pay OT according to ours.
AWW STIPEND POLICY: If a caregiver works a 2 shifts + a Sunday shift, 1/7 of stipends will be tied to the Sunday and pushed to the next timesheet. They will receive 6/7s one week, and 8/7s the following week (if they work 4 shifts).

ORIENTATION: One week, up to 40H of modules, hospital safety instructions and potential shadow shift
- Local: $20.76/hr
- Travel: $20.76/hr + $1,000 housing stipend
Local Pay: $75
Total Weekly Gross: $3,112
Hourly: $32
OT Rate: 1.5x
Housing: $1,316
Meals: $644

Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.?
- One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience withinthe last three years preferred.?
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
