LSW - Forensic Psych

The Medical Social Worker collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to provide input in the development of the plan of care for those patients requiring social work intervention.  The Medical Social Worker provides medically necessary intervention to patients who have social or emotional problems that are, or are expected to be, impediment(s) to the effective treatment of the medical condition and/or rate of recovery.  Additionally, the Medical Social Worker provides these services in accordance with physician’s orders.

Local Pay: $48/hr 

Travel Pay: $2,206 gross weekly 

Setting: Psych Hospital

Location: Pueblo, CO

Hours: 40/week, M-F

Orientation is 40 hours for the first 2 weeks

Notes: must have 2 years of psych, corrections or behavioral health experience

Start: 1st and 3rd week of every month with the exception of July only having one start date

Contract Length: 6 months

Notes: Must hold Master’s in Social Work AND have your LSW license to qualify for this position (if you hold your LSW in another state you MUST be willing to obtain it in Colorado)

Minimum Requirements:

• Baccalaureate degree in Social Work (BSW) or Master’s degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education per state/client requirements required
• Minimum of one (1) year of social work experience in a health care environment in the last two years preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
