The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs tests for patientdiagnosis, progress or deterioration and medical research. The Nuclear MedicineTechnologist prepares and gives radiopharmaceuticals to patients when indicatedand uses high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactivematerial in the patient’s body. TheNuclear Medicine Technologist works in collaboration with physicians to providethe images for interpretation to study and diagnose a medical condition. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist gives dosesof radiation to patients internally to treat various medical conditions whenprescribed by a physician. The NuclearMedicine Technologist participates in a variety of technical tasks, tests anddeterminations involving the utilization of radioactive materials andmeasurement instrumentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Level I & II
- Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technologytraining program and/or meets all state required educational &licensing/certification standards.
- Level II Position Requirements:
- Possesses at least two years of experience in the NuclearMedicine field • One –two years prior supervisory or Team Lead experience.
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
