The Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational andbehavioral services with children and adults with special needs andcollaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists toachieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.

Behavioral Support Implementation

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by behavior analysts or special education staff.
  • Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to support students with behavioral challenges.
  • Monitor and reinforce positive behavior strategies.

Data Collection and Reporting

  • Collect and record data on student behavior and progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
  • Report observations and data to the supervising behavior analyst or special education team.

Student Support

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to support behavioral and academic goals.
  • Assist students in developing social, emotional, and self-regulation skills.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, and other staff to support student needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of behavior plans.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers as directed by the supervising team.

Classroom and School Environment Support

  • Assist in creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Support classroom management strategies and routines.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable   
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
