Position Details:
- Pay: Starting at $45 per hour and up based on education & experience
- District: Grand Rapids Public Schools
- Openings: Multiple
- Grade Level: Elementary, Middle, High School opportunities
- Duration: Entire 2025-2026 School Year
- Start: July 28, 2025
- Schedule: In Person, M-F, 8:00AM – 4:00PM
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
Must Have:
- Masters degree (MSW preferred)
- Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes appropriate rules andprocedures for therapy within the instructional program.
- Designs individualized serviceplans based on IEPs and various assessments.
- Uses resources to support theinstructional program.
- Transitions students smoothlybetween therapy and classroom settings.
- Collaborates with the educationalteam to prevent and address inappropriate behaviors while respecting studentdignity.
- Provides positive feedback andeffective reinforcement to students.
- Interacts effectively withstudents, families, educational team members, and external professionals.
- Understands general developmentand the impact of disabilities on students and their families.
- Utilizes community, state, andnational resources to ensure student safety and welfare.
- Collaborates with students,educational staff, student teachers, interns, and volunteers for studentwelfare and safety.
- Adheres to Amergis and Districtpolicies and procedures.
Additional Info:
The Social Worker collaborates with the multidisciplinary team and provides input in the development of the IHP/IEP for students requiring social work intervention and support in the school setting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Holds a Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement as required by state, contract and/or facility
- May be required to have MSW or LCSW per state, contract or facility
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements?
- Must be at least 18 years of age
