We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a corrections facility located in Sumner, IL. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $42/hr and a structured schedule consisting of 2-hour shifts and 2-12 hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be ready to start at the end of May or early June.

Pay Rate: $42/hr (local)

Travel rate is $1886/week

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to inmates, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities.
• Medical Assessments: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates’ health status, documenting findings and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Treatment Plans: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies within the facility, providing immediate care and stabilizing patients until further medical assistance is available.
• Health Education: Educate inmates on health maintenance, disease prevention, and proper hygiene practices.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
• Infection Control: Implement and adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases within the facility.
• Support Services: Assist in coordinating specialty care services, such as mental health and substance abuse treatment, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current and valid LPN license in the state of Illinois.
• Experience: Previous experience in corrections or a similar setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a challenging environment.
