Onsite – HIM Tech/Scan Tech

The Health Information Management (HIM) Technician is responsible for managing and organizing health information data by ensuring its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper and electronic systems. The HIM Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining patient records, working special administrative projects, and supporting healthcare management with accurate and timely information.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Assist with scanning, indexing, and organizing medical records.

·         Scan/upload medical record documents.

·         Ensure proper handling and confidentiality of patient information.

·         Ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

·         Maintain logs and reports for tracking records and system access.

·         Assist in ensuring HIM procedures align with HIPAA and other regulations.

·         Support HIM staff with day-to-day administrative and technical tasks.

·         Assist in creating training materials and user guides.

·         Preparing for New Programs/Projects

·         Start-Up Medical Record Chart preparation

·         Prepare forms to mail for orientation and opening date

·         Medical Record Chart & File updates for existing programs as needed

·         Assist with standardizing forms in MCN Policy Manager (editing, numbering, and dating forms)

·         Complete tasks in MCN Policy Manager as requested

·         Upload or Update the Policies as requested by Regional or HIM Director

·         Transfer Word documents to fillable PDF format

·         File/document HIM materials (ie. forms, presentations, rules, etc.)

 

Preferred Experience

·         Smartsheet Proficiency – Experience with creating dashboards, reports, automations, and workflows.

·         Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) – Strong skills in managing spreadsheets, documents, and collaboration tools.

·         Adobe Acrobat (Fillable Forms & PDFs) – Ability to create, edit, and manage interactive PDF forms.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 

·         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
