The Phlebotomist draws blood from patients or donors of all ages in hospitals, clinics, blood banks, or similar facilities for analysis or other medical purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED certificate
• Successful completion of an acceptable training program in venipuncture/phlebotomy techniques through an accredited vocational school, college, or military training program
Preferred Qualifications
• Successful completion of an acceptable training program in venipuncture/phlebotomy techniques through an accredited vocational school, college, or military training program supplemented by one (1) year of fulltime practical work experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital or health care setting OR two (2) years of fulltime work experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital or health care setting
