Amergis Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a highlyskilled Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor for an assignment in Lancaster,CA!
Licensing Requirements
1. Provider shallpossess and maintain throughout the term of this Agreement, a current and validMFT license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science in order toperform services in the State of California.
2. Provider shall complywith all federal, State, and local requirements including the California Codeof Regulations (CCR) Title 22, Division 5, Chapter 12, Article 1, Section79543.
MFT Qualifications
1. Minimum of twelve (12)continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performingservices similar in scope to those defined herein, in a public or privateinstitution. Internship does not count towards the required experience.
2. Must have the requiredlicenses, permits, registrations, and/or certifications noted herein.
3. Education: Completion ofa master’s degree program from an accredited school for Marriage and FamilyTherapy, that meets the requirements stipulated in Business and ProfessionalCode 4980.36.
Service DeliveryRequirements
The MFT shall provideservices as permitted within the scope of practice for a MFT in accordance withinstitution/facility policies and procedures. Under the direction/supervisionof the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker or designee, MFT’s duties/responsibilitiesshall include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Conduct assessments, andprovide clinical treatment interventions such as brief counseling, grouptherapy, and individual counseling.
2. Consult and collaboratewith other disciplines for the care and treatment of patients and participatein interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
3. Perform assessments thatassist with and facilitate transitional care planning and coordination thatlinks patients with community resources and services as they release fromfacility.
4. Conduct assessments todetermine appropriate level of intervention, education, and counseling serviceswithin the context of marriage, couples and family systems as well asindividual biopsychosocial dimensions with specific solution-focused,attainable therapeutic goals.
5. Conduct CognitiveBehavior Therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), either in1:1 and/or group settings to modify intrapersonal and interpersonal behaviors.
6. Conduct assessments forpatients preparing for release from facility.
7. Provide education andcounseling services to individuals that encourage the development of lifeskills and strategies for coping and confronting issues related to SUD.
8. Develop and/orcontribute to treatment and care plans.
9. Review patient files,gather data, and complete reports and other required documentation.
10. Make recommendations tothe care teams, effectively communicate, and collaborate with the patient andall disciplines involved in the care of the patients.
11. Document and evaluatepatients’ progress with programming and facilitate discharges and transfers incoordination with other treatment and rehabilitative programs.
12. Work with institutionalrehabilitative partners and custody staff to assess patient’s participation andprogress in services.
13. Attend all caseconferences, trainings, meetings and committees as directed, and perform otherduties as required.
Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Start Date: 5/26/25 Contract Duration: 26 weeks Correctional Setting
Local Pay $63/hr |
*Total Travel Package = $2,819.00/week/40hours
· WeeklyHousing Allowance: $1,337.00
· WeeklyMeals/Incidentals Allowance: $602.00
· WeeklyTaxable Income: $880.00
*Based upon qualifyingfor position and allowances. Total package is inclusive of taxable wages andallowances.
The Marriage and Family Counselor provides professionalcounseling services designed in assisting participants in behavior change tomaintain a healthy lifestyle and quality of life through individual and grouptherapy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work orrelated field preferred
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work,Family Therapy preferred
- Licensed as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and FamilyTherapist (LMFT) as required by state regulations and/or contractspecifications
- One (1) year of experience in counseling preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
