Position: School Social Worker
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Start Date: ASAP       Duration: 7 months potentially longer 

About the Role:
Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop Individualized Health Plans (IHP) and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students needing social work support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Therapeutic Environment: Create and maintain a supportive therapeutic setting.
• Service Plans: Design personalized plans based on IEPs.
• Resource Utilization: Use resources to enhance the instructional program.
• Smooth Transitions: Facilitate transitions between therapy and classroom.
• Behavioral Intervention: Prevent and address inappropriate behaviors.
• Positive Reinforcement: Provide positive feedback using effective techniques.
• Effective Interaction: Communicate with students, families, and professionals.
• Developmental Knowledge: Understand disabilities’ impact on students and families.
• Community Resources: Utilize resources for student safety and welfare.
• Collaboration: Work with staff, interns, and volunteers for student welfare.

Minimum Requirements:

• Licensing: Professional Educator License with SSW endorsement.
• Education: MSW or LCSW may be required.
• Professional Standards: Adherence to professional standards.
• Certifications: Current CPR, TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray, Health certificate.
• Regulatory Compliance: Meet federal, state, and local requirements.
• Training: Complete new hire training.
• Confidentiality: Understand HIPAA requirements.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English.
• Technical Skills: Computer proficiency.
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
