Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional looking to make a difference in the lives of high school students? We are seeking a School Social Worker to join our dynamic student support team.

Our client is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. We offer specialized programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairments (CI), and serve a diverse population of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as well as those in general education.

Position Overview: As a School Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome barriers to their educational success. You will provide comprehensive social work services to families, students, and school staff, addressing issues that limit a student’s ability to fully benefit from their educational experience. You will respond to referrals from school administration, families, teachers, the Student Support Team, and others, providing direct services and assisting families in accessing appropriate school and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to students and families.
• Collaborate with school staff to address student needs.
• Assist families in accessing school and community resources.
• Respond to referrals from various sources within the school community.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Full or temporary School Social Worker license through the Michigan Department of Education.
• Experience working with high school-aged students; familiarity with ASD and CI supports preferred.
