A government facility is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our healthcare team. This contract position involves providing comprehensive healthcare services in a unique detention environment. APPs will work collaboratively with physicians to deliver high-quality care to detainees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide acute, emergent, and chronic healthcare.
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical evaluations.
  • Conduct minor outpatient surgical procedures.
  • Manage infectious diseases and public health concerns.
  • Offer gender-specific care, including transgender care and pregnancy management.
  • Participate in court-ordered treatment plans for psychiatric and life-threatening conditions.
  • Provide infirmary care and manage tuberculosis treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and universal precautions.
  • Educate patients on health matters.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • One year of full-time experience in primary care within the past five years.
  • Experience in detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings is preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
  • Unrestricted, current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Unrestricted license to prescribe controlled medications.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support or CPR.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and cultural competency.
Duty Hours and On-Call Requirements:
  • Rotational on-call duties, including availability during weekends and holidays.
  • Response required during emergency activations.
Security Requirements:
  • Favorable fitness determination by the Department of Homeland Security’s Personnel Security Unit.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Respond to medical emergencies within four minutes.
