The Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibilityand accountability for the application of the nursing process and the deliveryof patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performsaccording to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care andassisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities includemonitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management,medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central linecare, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient’s status.The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.
Minimum Requirements:
- CurrentRegistered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
- Minimum of one year acute or critical care experiencepreferred
- 2+ years ICU experience
- Current BLS card; current ACLS card required
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- MA RN license in hand upon submission
- EPIC experience required
- Previous CVICU experience, post-TAVR experience, PCI experience
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella devices
- Cardiac experience with fresh open heart experience preferred
- CRRT experience is a plus (using the Primax machine)
