Experience: Minimum 1 year previous LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) experience; Previous neonatal experience; Comfortable working with babies / nicu care; Previous experience in a critical access hospital is a plus
Notes: May be asked to perform charge shifts/precepting; Facility will allow 90 day exception but Oregon license is preferred; Candidates may be asked to float to MS, ER, CCU unit if census is low in FBC. They would be doing team nursing or CNA shifts when floating. Please ensure this is in all assignment agreements.
The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The labor and deliverynurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.?
- One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience withinthe last three years preferred.?
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
