Position: School Aide working with students age 3-26

Start Date: 4/21/2025

Hours: 35 hours per week

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Aide to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of students. As a School Aide, you will work closely with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee. This role is essential in providing support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility, and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker, or other health care professional.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist students with instructional activities and reinforce learning concepts.
Support students with behavioral needs, implementing strategies as directed by the special education team.
Provide personal care and physical mobility assistance to students, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support students’ individualized education plans (IEPs).
Monitor and document students’ progress and report any concerns to the supervising designee.
Maintain a positive and inclusive environment that fosters students’ growth and development.

Minimum Requirements:

Current CPR certification, if applicable.
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
