Position: School Aide working with students age 3-26
Start Date: 4/21/2025
Hours: 35 hours per week
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Aide to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of students. As a School Aide, you will work closely with students requiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee. This role is essential in providing support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility, and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker, or other health care professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with instructional activities and reinforce learning concepts.
- Support students with behavioral needs, implementing strategies as directed by the special education team.
- Provide personal care and physical mobility assistance to students, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support students’ individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and document students’ progress and report any concerns to the supervising designee.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment that fosters students’ growth and development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
