RN Progressive Care (PCU) - Louisville, KY

The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professionalpractitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for deliveringpatient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care UnitRN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. These individual employs critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patientcare and assisting others in the management of patient care.  The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimesalso called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgicalstepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition orintermedia unit. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
• Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site 
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements  
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required  
• Computer proficiency required 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
