Job Description:

The Direct Support Personnel (DSP) assists individuals withintellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth anddevelopment of interpersonal skills and Activities of Daily Living in the home,community or residential setting.  TheDirect Support Personnel works directly with the resident and provides supportsfor activities of daily living and adaptive skills.  The Direct Support Personnel should followthe guidance of the resident/ patients Individual Service Plan. 

Minimum Requirements:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with daily living activities and ensure the comfort and safety of residents.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity.
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide high-quality care.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
  • Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license.
