The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible forperforming student evaluations, developing and providing therapy services, anddocumenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for eachstudent.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students’ needs and develop individualized therapy plans. Evaluate students’ progress and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and other areas that impact educational performance.
  • IEP Participation: Actively participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, including assessments, goal setting, and progress reporting.
  • Consultation & Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom and home environments. Provide training and support to staff and parents on strategies to support students’ needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and communications with parents and staff.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure all therapy practices comply with state and federal regulations, including maintaining licensure and certifications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the Stateof practice
  • One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapyexperience preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
