Our client in Merced, CA is seeking dedicated Psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide care in a short-term, 16-bed recovery-based program for adults experiencing serious psychotic episodes or intense emotional distress. This facility offers an alternative to hospitalization or incarceration in a home-like setting.
Position Details:
- Pay: $32 per hour.
- Location: Merced, CA
- Assignment Length: 13 week temp
- Schedule Availability: 12 hour shifts. AM and PM available
- There is opportunity for consistent 3 shifts per week.
- There is also an opportunity for Per Diem/On Call if you’re looking to pick up shifts on your days off from your other jobs.
Job Duties:
- Observe and document clients’ physical or mental conditions, reporting to the Program Manager and attending physician or nurse practitioner.
- Order, prepare, administer, and document medication as per physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation in medical records for each shift.
- Communicate pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide support in problem resolution, including the use of Pro-ACT techniques.
- Use Pro-ACT to manage assaultive or volatile clients appropriately.
- Respond to company communications via email, telephone, or other modes within a reasonable timeframe.
- Regularly log into company information sharing sites to stay updated on policy changes, procedures, and events.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing.
- At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting (clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for part of the work experience).
- Valid California LVN or LPT license.
