Job Description:
The School Psychologist supports students through mentalhealth and developmental challenges, aiding in qualifying for additionalsupport services. This role provides on-site psychological services to studentsunder state and district jurisdiction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete multi-factored evaluations (initial and re-evaluations) within state-regulated time frames.
- Conduct pre-referral consultations and interventions.
- Monitor students’ responses to curriculum modifications.
- Plan interventions and individual education programs as an instructional intervention specialist.
- Perform psycho-educational assessments.
- Consult with students, parents, and personnel on educational and mental health matters.
- Participate in ongoing training and in-servicing.
- Consult with teachers and team members regularly.
- Support RTI implementation in assigned schools (if applicable).
- Conduct evaluations, including:
- Pre-diagnostic meetings.
- Student interviews.
- Classroom behavior observations.
- Consultations with parents and teachers.
- Reviews of academic history and current functioning.
- Psycho-educational evaluations.
- Specialized evaluations.
- Functional Behavior Analysis (if required).
- Create Behavior Intervention Plans (if required).
- Attend pre-referral and screening team meetings.
- Enter evaluation information on CRT 24 hours before extended IEP team meetings (as required).
- Participate in extended IEP team meetings and other necessary procedures.
- Conduct full case study evaluations as part of the team.
- Attend PAEC meetings, complete evaluation reports, and schedule/chair pre-diagnostic meetings (PDMs).
- Participate in additional duties based on student and program needs, including teacher in-service, counseling, student screening, parent groups, intern supervision, research, and program development.
- Maintain client information securely and confidentially per client, local, state, and State Board of Psychology guidelines.
