The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) therapist provides a range of services to individuals, families, and communities. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Assessments: Evaluate clients to determine their mental health and social service needs.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create individualized plans and provide therapy in one-on-one or group settings.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress towards treatment goals.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with best practices, laws, and regulations in social work and mental health.
- Participate in Professional Development: Engage in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education per state/client requirements required
- Minimum of one (1) year of social work experience in a health care environment in the last two years preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
