Special Education Teacher in Palatine, IL
Are you a dedicated Special Education Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity? Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a passionate teacher to join our team in Palatine, IL.
Position Details:
- Location: Palatine, IL
- Role: LBS1 – Intensive Teacher
- Caseload: 4 students (approximately middle school age)
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
- Duration: ASAP – End of 2025 School Year (High opportunity for extension)
- Compensation: $55 per hour
- Sign-On Bonus: $250
Requirements:
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for K or 6th through 22 years old
- Experience working with high-needs students

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
