Special Education Teacher
Location: South Central Wisconsin
Position Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $45hour
Length: End of School Year
Details:
- Start Time: 8:00 AM
- End Time: 3:30 PM
- Meal Break: 30 minutes
- Class: Special Education (SPED)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and development.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on students and activities as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license in Special Education.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Experience with various instructional strategies and assistive technologies.
