Weare seeking an experienced Professional Fee Coding Manager to lead ourcoding team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency inmedical/professional coding practices. The ideal candidate will have extensiveknowledge of coding regulations, medical terminology, and reimbursementguidelines, along with strong leadership and analytical skills.
Knowledgeof:
Federal, state and county laws and regulations governing coding; moderntheories, principles and practices of effective supervision; coding principlesand guidelines including, but not limited to ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/E&M, andHCPCS; coding documentation and billing regulations related to Medicare,Medicaid, and commercial insurance; revenue cycle workflows including, but notlimited to charges/charge master, code edits, auditing, denials management, anddocumentation improvement; budget principles and practices; principles ofinformation management including principles of confidentiality and otherpatient rights; data collection and analysis techniques; personal computers andassociate software applications; department and hospital safety practice andprocedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infectioncontrol policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal ofhazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies andprocedures.
Skill in:
Effectively managing assigned staff; facilitating resolution of conflicts amongstaff; applying budget principles and practices; compiling, interpreting andevaluating statistical and medical data; identifying and implementingperformance standards; problem solving; using electronic health record systems;3M 360 or similar integrated encoder/computer-assisted coding system; utilizingpersonal computers for data management and information dissemination;communicating effectively with a wide variety of people from diversesocio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effectiveworking relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties;efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
MinimumRequirements:
- Formal HIM education with national certification (RHIA or RHIT) or Bachelor’s Degree required
- Additional coding certification (CCS, or CCS-P) preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of inpatient and outpatient hospital coding experience (additional physician coding experience preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience
- Must hold at least one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H (COC) or have a preferred minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
