Amergis is seeking for licensed clinicians, including LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC, , to work within juvenile detention facilities in San Diego County. We are seeking dedicated Mental Health Counselors to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges, which have led to detainment, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team. Our patients are located within the two juvenile detention facilities in San Diego County.
Details
Location: San Diego
Schedule: Flexible but one weekend day/week required; 4 days 10 hour shifts option or 5 days 8 hour shifts
Pay: $60-70+/hr DOE
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges, which have led to detainment, as well as strong interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with adolescents in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, psychopathology, diagnosing, and DSM-5-TR
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy
- Familiarity with crisis intervention, suicide assessments, and safety planning
- Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Monitor and document patient behaviors and progress
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions
- Collaborate with the clinical and multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Conduct crisis intervention services when youth report suicidality or homicidality or present as gravely disabled
- Create special, behavioral, and incentivized programming for youth struggling to program within the facility
- Work collaboratively with Probation partners as well as other contracted partners
- Excellent interpersonal skills to appropriately and professional work within correctional environment
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required
- Active license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in state of practice required
- Current CPR if applicable
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
